Why do we love this case?

Great value on GREAT wines! The array of the exceptional is ridiculous in this pack. We’re touching down in some of the world’s best wine regions here - Chablis, Margaret River, Savennières, Priorat and more. Every bottle is one of those ‘should we save this for a special night?’ kind of wines, but with this value, every night can be special.

Each pack includes ONE bottle of the following:

Chardonnay
Burgundy

Domaine Roland Lavantureux Chablis 2019

Vinous
16.5 Jancis Robinson

Domaine Roland Lavantureux have been growing grapes in Chablis for generations, but it wasn’t until 1979 that they started bottling their own wine. Their Chablis appellation wine is made with minimal fuss - only 20% of the wine sees oak, so fruit-purity is at the fore. From a low yielding year that produced wines of great concentration, the grapes were picked at the perfect time which resulted in a fresh, vibrant wine. The well-balanced palate is full of yellow nectarines, grapefruit pitch and melon. There is a touch of spice in the wine too which is apparent on the lingering finish.

Italian Import
New to the 'Fo

This organic Langhe Rosso from the boutique winery of the Giribaldi family has the typical components of dolcetto, barbera and nebbiolo, but there’s also a surprising touch of pinot noir in the blend. It’s medium-bodied, ruby red in colour and bursting with aromas of cherry, redcurrant and tobacco. On the palate the fruit carries through, but is accompanied by hints of vanilla and licorice undoubtedly drawn from the wine’s generous time in seasoned oak. It’s easy-going enough to enjoy a glass on its own, but the acid structure is plenty apparent for pairing with savoury, meaty dishes. Try it with carne cruda, agnolotti del Plin or brasato. You’ll feel like you’re sitting under the shadow of the Italian Alps.

Cult Producer
Mofo Fave

Domain FL’s chenin blanc is from the sub appellation of Savennières, considered to be the Grand Cru of the Loire Valley. The wine is structured and textural and really a quite serious chenin. Spring flora abounds on the nose, with zesty citrus fruit on the palate and steely minerality. This will be a wonderful aged wine for those who wait, so sit this one down for a few extra years and reap the rewards of chenin blanc at its finest.

Five Red Star Halliday Rated Winery
Boutique Winery

We’ve dabbled in the wines of Five Red Star producer Higher Plane before, but this’ll be the first chardonnay for us. It’s about time to be honest. They’ve got a rockstar of a winemaker and sit right in the heart of Margaret River. That’s a winning combination right there. Classic margs chardy with lime, peach, bright acidity and some nuttiness. A little rich, quite minerally and immensely satisfying. What took us so long?

Wine & Spirits 2020
Women in Wine

Where Rioja is all about tempranillo, Priorat champions the red blend, with local and French varieties grown in their famed Llicorella soils. If you are a bit of a soil nerd or geology buff, do yourself a favour and google Llicorella to learn about the reddish and black carboniferous slate (with mica and quartzite) soils. It’s these soils where the vines need to bury deep within the earth to access water and it’s a journey that adds to the strain of the vines and resulting mineral character in the wine.

This pan-South Aussie producer is fast becoming a mofo favourite, across their delicious red and white wines. They seek out parcels of quality grapes in Barossa, McLaren and on this case the maritime region of Langhorne Creek. Their wines are made to a high-standard across the range and are reliably delicious. This cabernet shows off a perfumed nose of flowers, juicy plums and dried herbs, followed by a medium-bodied, ripe and textured palate. There’s a gentle earthiness in the wine that is wrapped in blackberries and a lingering olive tapenade finish.
