Why do we love this case?
That’s not to say they’re short on quality or complexity – far from it! But to sit there alone while pondering these would be missing the point. They’re built for fun, for fabulous feeds with friends, for big belly-laughs in the best of company. And wherever these wines are, fun times are never far. Cheers to that, mofo!
1x Domaine Yvet & Laurent Vocoret Chablis AOC Chardonnay 2022
White — Chardonnay
Burgundy — France
The complexity of Chablis is unmatched not just in chardonnay but amongst the great wines of the world. There is so much to discover here – a wine brimming with intricacies and curiosities. Slatey mineral drive underpins the acid from start to finish. Rich, shapely fruit gives the wine palate weight and breadth, and the scintillating acid sets the mouth alight. A brilliant wine from a relatively unsung hero of the region.

1x Sophie Schaal Alsace Riesling 2023
White — Riesling
Alsace AOC — France
Is there anything the Schaal’s can’t do? They’ve clearly mastered South African and Alsatian wine and here’s a bit more of that ‘proof is in the pudding’. Sophie’s Alsace riesling is a blend of fruit from two vineyards representing the major soil types in the region - granitic with mica and clayey limestone. The wine is laser sharp with an expression of fresh lime, lemon curd, green apple, slate and orange blossom. Refreshing, bracing and complete, the perfect example of the style.
You’d pay $60 full price.

1x Middle Earth Wines Pinot Gris 2021
White — Pinot Gris
Nelson — New Zealand
Fresh off the port of New Zealand, Middle Earth is one of our favourite wineries from the south island. We only ever get a limited amount because they don’t make much wine - it’s pretty exclusive. Refreshingly crisp and brimming with sweet luscious honey character, lemon, dragonfruit and quince, this is mouth-filling and textured, piercing the palate with firm acidity and minerality. This is perfect for the humid weather served super chilled; it just slips and slides. Destined to be consumed with your favourite hawker dishes, this wine will happily take the heat off your chilli crab or balance alongside the tamarind sweetness of rojak.
You’d pay $45 full price.
