Why do we love this case?
This right here is what we should call the ‘anything but reds’ case. Take that how you will mofo, but we love a mix like this. For those who rarely delve into the darker wines, we’ve got you covered with an emergency selection of everything else. Sparklings for celebration or aperitifs. Maybe you just really need that white on a scorchin’ hot day. Or maybe, just maybe, nothing will quite satisfy you at a particular moment like a glass of rosé. We get it. If you’re anything like us, there’s always a couple of cases of this one in your basket.
1x Middle Earth Wines Pinot Meunier Rosé 2021
Rosé
New Zealand — New Zealand
Pinot meunier is famous. Okay, maybe not so famous on the wine’s label but, it’s famous in Champagne, being one of the three main grape varieties used in making the world-famous sparkling wines. On the other side of the world is Middle Earth from New Zealand, and they grow pinot meunier to make into a crisp, bright, complex rosé. We are loving this like the younger generation loving ‘Rosé’ from Blackpink. It is wonderfully fresh with hibiscus, grapefruit and tea leaves. Expect vibrancy, this wine is crying out for a spell over ice by the poolside. The perfect weekend wine.
You’d pay $40 full price.

1x Pretty Paddock Sauvignon Blanc 2022
White — Sauvignon Blanc
New Zealand — New Zealand
Pretty Paddock by name, and a pretty paddock it’s grown in. Grab hold of this beauty. A bright, lively savvy b from NZ’s famous Marlborough region - this is best enjoyed out on the balcony in the southeast Asian sunshine, alongside your nearest and dearest. Fresh and crisp, with floral, slightly grassy aromas and a honeydew melon palate quenching with long, limey citrus flavours. A hint of gooseberry and passionfruit unfolds in the glass too. A perfect combo, right? We think you’ll agree, this is a great Marlborough savvy b.

White — Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough — New Zealand
The Holdaway family has tended to its land in Marlborough since 1864, focussing in modern times on sustainability and biodiversity. This vintage, like every vintage before it, is classic sauv blanc. Refreshing and elegant, exhibiting bright acidty, nice fruit weight and subtle minerality. You find citrus in the form of grapefruit and mandarin, along with passionfruit, nettles and bell pepper. A nice little number out of Marlborough with a bit more going on than the usual savvy b.

1x Flametree SRS Chardonnay 2021
White — Chardonnay
Margaret River — Australia
For fans of classic Margaret River chardonnay, it doesn’t get much better than this. This is the ‘reserve’ wine from Flametree, you know them as one of the best producers in the region. Chardonnay for the stars; bursting with grapefruit, lemon rind, cashew, struck match and stonefruit. Powerful, complex and long-lived to boot. And all the critics agree as well. Just read what James Suckling had to say... “A complex and fragrant nose of lemon curd, crushed thyme, grated nutmeg and fresh hay. Medium-bodied with bright, crisp acidity. Silky texture. Lingering and layered with fresh citrus and subtle nutty undertones. Delicious. Rocking acidity. Limey. Hints of vanilla. Brought up in 50% new oak. Drink or hold.”
You’d pay $90 full price.
