Brightwater Vineyards Te Kahu Pinot Noir 2020
- Medium bodied
Crafted by boutique winery Brightwater from their little patch of paradise in the Nelson region, this is a pretty wonderful pinot noir. The sunshine and sea breezes of the region produce beautifully balanced fruit that is harnessed in elegant wines. The wine is bursting with aromas of bright cherries and plums that play with floral, gamey notes. Dangerously drinkable, the palate is vibrant, juicy and smooth.
“It’s wonderfully fruited and inviting on the nose showing Black Doris plum, sweet cherry, game and spicy oak characters, leading to a concentrated palate that’s succulent and fleshy. The wine offers terrific fruit purity together with elegant complexity, making it immediately appealing and highly enjoyable.”
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.

Nelson, right at the top of the south island, vies for New Zealand's best wine region. Its wine history dates back to 1800s German settlers, but the modern industry kicked off in the 1970s. It boasts a vibrant arts and café scene, and although you will see New Zealand's usual suspects (pinot, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and aromatic whites), many of the wines are as eclectic as the people who live here.
