Domaine Roland Lavantureux Bougros Grand Cru Chablis 2020
- Textural
- Burgundy
Domaine Roland Lavantureux have been growing grapes in Chablis for generations, but it wasn’t until 1979 that they started bottling their own wine. In fact, they used to sell it off by the barrel. There’s a lot of talk about the wines they’re making, just get one to your lips and you’ll know why. They are truly focused on terroir, and this all accumulates in their Grand Cru styles. One of just seven sites in Chablis that carry this prestige: south-east facing to absorb all the precious sunlight, and the famous kimmeridgian soils that define great Chablis. This wine meets the perfect balance between rich and fresh, and promises a long future to its owner. Saline stone fruits, citrus blossom, candied grapefruit and subtle spicy melon from some new oak use. Truly outstanding, a wine that comes around only a few times in a lifetime.

Wine Enthusiast
“Hints of smoked nut and ash lend nuance to tangerine and nectarine flavors in this wine. While pristine and opulent in fruit profile, it maintains the tension and steeliness of a classic Chablis. This penetrating, satisfying wine is just starting to open and will likely improve through 2040”
It’s cool, we get it, you want to know absolutely everything about this wine. Well here you go, go nuts.
