Fifteen years of age, old-vine, dry-grown Barossa shiraz from one of the valley's most respected family producers. This is exactly the kind of wine that makes patient people feel very, very smug. Kalleske have been farming their Barossa estate organically and biodynamically for generations — and the Eduard is their flagship statement.

Why do we love this wine?
Unfined, unfiltered and built without compromise, this is Barossa shiraz as serious as it gets. What was once a powerful, concentrated young red has evolved into something magnificently complex. The primary fruit has deepened and transformed into a rich tapestry of dark plum, black fruit, chocolate and subtle licorice, with earthy tertiary characters adding a depth and nuance that only genuine bottle age can deliver. The tannins are polished and generous, the finish is long and dry, and the whole thing carries its 15% alcohol with a grace that speaks to the quality of the fruit underneath. Decant for at least an hour before opening - give it room to breathe and watch it unfold into something extraordinary. Fifteen years in. Drinking magnificently right now. Still with road ahead.
