Why do we love this wine?
You know when something seems to good to be true? That's what we thought of this wine before we tasted it, surpassing all expectations by miles. Macerated plums, fresh vanilla pods, cracked pepper and roasted coffee beans are just some of the layers that you can expect here. Did we mention a robust, silky palate? That's right, this is a wine of very high calibre. Given this winery is all about their heritage estate vineyards, I guess we should never have been surprised at how good this could get.

Wine Pilot
It's wonderfully fruited and immensely complex, showing dark fruit richness, toasty oak, vanilla, clove and dark cocoa aromas on the nose. The palate is impressively weighted and concentrated with plush texture and velvety tannins. Graceful and enticing with a prolonged delicious finish. At its best: now to 2032.

Another superb Barossa Shiraz – generous, bold, balanced and decadent. Only 25 barrels of this wine were made so do not hesitate as it certainly exceeds the quality of plenty of wines twice the price and more. This is quintessential Barossa Shiraz. Inky dark purple, there are blackberry notes, cloves, new leather and violets, spices and florals. Vanillin oak but there is excellent integration afoot. The palate explodes with chocolate, mocha, aniseed, coffee beans, blackcurrants, cassis and soy. Supple texture, the wine is balanced and generous with boundless energy. Good intensity and a fine line of acidity run the full length of this wine. A lingering finish, it will drink superbly for the next twelve to twenty years.
