The chardonnays of Burgundy are among the greatest white wines in the world. They’re age-worthy, multi-dimensional, and supremely sophisticated (but that doesn’t mean you need to be sophisticated to drink them - trust us, we know from experience). The 2021 Domaine Vincent Wengier has, first and foremost, ripping acidity. It gather’s the wine perfectly and delivers a brilliant, enduring finish. Taste green apple, zesty lime, whole lemon, and a bit of briny maritime salinity on the back-palate. Some lees work gives it real breadth and presence on the palate. It will pair beautifully with creamy pasta, a hearty salad, fatty meats - but it’ll go best with oysters. A bit of salty sea-spray and tart lemon juice will set this wine on fire.
