Bordeaux Selection

This is classy Bordeaux without the stiff collar. From the Côtes de Bourg and made by one of the region’s quietly brilliant winemakers, this 2022 has refinement and luxury at its core, but it still knows how to have a good time at the table. Straight off the bat, the nose pulls you in with ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and red currant, layered with a floral flicker of violet and a subtle cocoa edge that keeps things interesting. On the palate it’s all about balance - generous fruit up front, gentle savoury and floral notes through the middle, and a clean, composed finish that doesn’t overstay its welcome. In short - this is some seriously classy stuff!

Sustainably farmed and aged for 10 months in French oak from a handful of carefully selected coopers, which shows in the detail. You’ll find ripe cassis and juicy blueberry up front, followed by violet lift, gentle spice and those cosy oak notes - vanilla, toasted hazelnut, a touch of cocoa - all neatly folded in rather than purely slapped together. The palate’s generous but composed, with enough structure to feel serious and enough freshness to keep things lively. This is Bordeaux that plays beautifully at the dinner table - think roasts, grilled meats, slow-cooked stews - basically anything hearty and comforting.

The 2022 vintage was an incredible year for Bordeaux, and this Cru Bourgeois is an absolute knockout. It opens with an inviting nose of ripe blackberry, dark plum and subtle cedar spice. On the palate, you'll find a beautifully structured core of dark fruit, wrapped in silky tannins and finishing with a touch of classic graphite. It's drinking exceptionally well right now but has the structure and density to lay down in your cellar for years to come.
