1x Ivyburn Aldersey Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is a smart wine. It feels very harmonious, there's fruit intensity but it's not *too* fruity, there's present oak but it's not *too* overpowering, there's spice and tannin but they're not *too* drying. Everything has been worked into this classy number in thoughtful moderation and the result is a wine greater than the sum of its parts.
From the well known, hand-tended, vineyards of the Willunga sub-region of McLaren Vale, picked in the (widely lorded) year of 2021 - it's safe to say we were holding this one to a pretty high standard. Well, this wine exceeded even our lofty expectations. Juicy dark mulberry and black cherry, vibrant spiced plum and chocolate characters are expressed with both intensity and complexity. Subtle, but ever present, oak characters manifest themselves in slight chocolate and vanilla notes along with fine grained tannins and build to a silky, spice driven finish. Happy to sit in the cellar for 15+ years, but why delay happiness right?

1x Château Du Bois de Tau Côtes de Bourg AOC 2022
Red — Merlot Blend
Bordeaux — France
This is classy Bordeaux without the stiff collar. From the Côtes de Bourg and made by one of the region’s quietly brilliant winemakers, this 2022 has refinement and luxury at its core, but it still knows how to have a good time at the table. Straight off the bat, the nose pulls you in with ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and red currant, layered with a floral flicker of violet and a subtle cocoa edge that keeps things interesting. On the palate it’s all about balance - generous fruit up front, gentle savoury and floral notes through the middle, and a clean, composed finish that doesn’t overstay its welcome. In short - this is some seriously classy stuff!

1x Terra Argenta Mendoza Malbec 2025
Red — Malbec
Argentina — Argentina
Terra Argenta captures the true spirit of Argentina by sourcing fruit from premium, high-altitude vineyards nestled in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Up here, the vines are exposed to intense daytime sunshine followed by freezing night temperatures. This extreme shift in climate is the absolute secret to growing world-class Malbec, allowing the grapes to develop thick skins, deep colour and incredibly concentrated flavours while retaining a brilliant streak of natural acidity. You're getting an authentic, rugged expression of Mendoza terroir that punches completely above its weight, delivering serious South American flair straight to your glass.
