Why do we love this case?

That’s not to say they’re short on quality or complexity – far from it! But to sit there alone while pondering these would be missing the point. They’re built for fun, for fabulous feeds with friends, for big belly-laughs in the best of company. And wherever these wines are, fun times are never far. Cheers to that, mofo!

1x Sophie Schaal Alsace Riesling 2023

White — Riesling

Alsace AOC — France

Is there anything the Schaal’s can’t do? They’ve clearly mastered South African and Alsatian wine and here’s a bit more of that ‘proof is in the pudding’. Sophie’s Alsace riesling is a blend of fruit from two vineyards representing the major soil types in the region - granitic with mica and clayey limestone. The wine is laser sharp with an expression of fresh lime, lemon curd, green apple, slate and orange blossom. Refreshing, bracing and complete, the perfect example of the style.

1x Middle Earth Wines Pinot Gris 2021

White — Pinot Gris

Nelson — New Zealand

Fresh off the port of New Zealand, Middle Earth is one of our favourite wineries from the south island. We only ever get a limited amount because they don’t make much wine - it’s pretty exclusive. Refreshingly crisp and brimming with sweet luscious honey character, lemon, dragonfruit and quince, this is mouth-filling and textured, piercing the palate with firm acidity and minerality. This is perfect for the humid weather served super chilled; it just slips and slides. Destined to be consumed with your favourite hawker dishes, this wine will happily take the heat off your chilli crab or balance alongside the tamarind sweetness of rojak.

You'd pay $45 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

This collection brings together premium wines from renowned regions like Chablis and Alsace alongside exceptional New Zealand and Australian producers, offering remarkable diversity at an accessible price point. The inclusion of certified organic, vegan-friendly, and boutique producer wines means you're getting artisanal quality without the premium markup. With ratings reaching up to 95 points from respected critics like Michael Cooper, these wines punch well above their weight class. The variety spans from crisp mineral Chablis to tropical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, giving you a comprehensive white wine education in one purchase.

The beauty of this mixed collection lies in its versatility across different serving occasions and temperatures. Serve the Chablis Chardonnay and Alsace Riesling at 8-10°C to highlight their mineral complexity and crisp acidity, perfect as aperitifs or with seafood. The New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris shine at slightly warmer temperatures (10-12°C) to showcase their tropical fruit characters, making them ideal for casual entertaining. The richer Chardonnay can handle being served at 12-14°C, allowing its buttery, nutty notes to emerge beautifully alongside roasted chicken or creamy pasta dishes.

This collection's flavour diversity makes it a perfect match for varied dining experiences, from casual barbecues to sophisticated dinner parties. The grassy, gooseberry notes of the Sauvignon Blanc pair brilliantly with fresh herbs, goat cheese, and Asian cuisine, while the mineral-driven Chablis is a classic match for oysters and delicate fish dishes. The spiced, peachy characteristics of the Pinot Gris complement pork, duck, and mildly spiced dishes beautifully. The nutty, buttery Chardonnay styles work wonderfully with creamy sauces, roasted poultry, and aged cheeses, making this collection your go-to for entertaining diverse palates.

Most wines in this collection are designed for immediate enjoyment, capturing the fresh, vibrant characteristics that make white wines so appealing for social drinking. However, the 2019 Chardonnay and the Chablis have the structure and acidity to develop beautifully over 2-3 years, gaining complexity and depth. The Alsace Riesling, with its natural acidity and mineral backbone, can also reward patient cellaring for up to 5 years. For maximum enjoyment of the tropical fruit characters in the Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, consume these within 18 months while their vibrant freshness remains at its peak.

The French selections represent exceptional terroir-driven winemaking from two of the world's most respected white wine regions. The Chablis offers that distinctive mineral precision that only comes from Kimmeridgian soil and cool climate Chardonnay, while the Alsace Riesling showcases the variety's ability to express pure fruit character with elegant dryness. These wines provide a masterclass in Old World winemaking philosophy, where restraint and terroir expression take precedence over overt fruit flavours. Paired with the New World expressions from New Zealand and Australia, you get to experience how the same grape varieties express themselves differently across continents and winemaking styles.
