Why do we love this case?
The Lucky Dip Case is here! The last time we did this, we broke the internet. This time we’ve bubble-wrapped the servers because they’re in for another beating.
Every case contains the same five amazing reds. More info on them below, but they're among our bestselling wines of all-time.
Then there’s the added excitement of seeing if you have won the world-beater lucky wine you will receive as your sixth.
The sixth wine is the wildcard and could be either of these:
Château Margaux 2000 worth $2500 (1 in 100 chance)
Angove Family Winemakers 1886 Shiraz 2021 worth $50 (at a minimum!)
We should say up front: there are no returns on this - click here for case terms and conditions. As it’s a Lucky Dip, it would be unfair to other mofos running in the draw.
The easiest way to guarantee to get a bottle of Margaux is to go out and buy one for yourself. If you, like me, don’t have $2500 handy, this is your best (and cheapest) option. Heard enough already? Pop that case in the cart and cross your fingers and toes. Otherwise, read on for a bit more info on these bestselling reds:

1x Auld Family The Ernie Reserve Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This one bursts with dark cherry and blueberry fruit before melting into layers of cocoa, toasted spice and just a hint of cedar. The palate's thick-set and velvety, with plush tannins holding everything in balance. There's real weight here but it's not clumsy - the structure carries all that power with confidence. Time in French oak (minimum 12 months) has rounded things out beautifully, adding polish to all that Barossa grunt. The oak integrates seamlessly, lending warmth and complexity without overwhelming the fruit or making things feel overdone. Crack it now with a leg of lamb and it'll show all its generous, fruit-forward character, tuck it away for a decade and watch it evolve into something even more complex and seductive as the tannins soften and tertiary characters evolve.
You’d pay $120 full price.

1x Reschke Cellar Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
This family winery have been landowners in Coonawarra for over 100 years. They are Coonawarra experts and the jewel in their crown is, of course, cabernet sauvignon. Their wines consistently score highly with critics and this 2020 cellar release is a showcase of a deep understanding of the land and masterstroke winemaking.
The blackberry fruit concentration is immense and elevated by fine, dancing tannin. It wouldn't be Coonawarra without the marriage of mint and tobacco, rounding out mouth-feel and driving complexity. This is fantastic drinking now and will age gracefully for another decade.
You’d pay $90 full price.

1x Penley Estate Steyning Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Premium cab from Coonawarra doesn’t easily come at this price, just so you know. So just feel a little bit special being here, with us and this wine, right now. This is one of those wines that reminds us of the golden era of wine quality-meets-affordability. It’s full-bodied but lithe at the same time - deep and rich, but with composure and purpose. This winery’s put a lot of time, energy and money into making their wines relatable to the current climate of Coonawarra, and we’re reaping the rewards in stacks of quality wine. Bravo.
You’d pay $85 full price.

1x School House Headmaster Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
We know that Coonawarra cabernet is sincerely age-able. That’s just part and parcel of this region’s charm. This School House cab shows the best of what the famed red clay has to offer, as it walks the tightrope between power and elegance with perfect poise. There are ripe dark fruits of plum and cassis, wrapped up in fine tannins and complimented by notes of toasty oak. It is intense, but also wonderfully balanced. We don’t need to say much more, because this is one wine that does most of the talking.
You’d pay $60 full price.

1x Paxton The 19th Vineyard Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Once upon a time… this vineyard was the fairway golf course (thus the name). These days, the only thing being driven is excellence - straight down the middle of McLaren Vale’s famed 19th Vineyard. With sweeping views across St Vincent’s Gulf and deep sandy soils that gift a more floral, aromatic expression of shiraz, this truly has become one of Paxton’s crown jewels. Here's what's going on once you pop the top off this beauty... The nose is pure temptation - ripe blackberries, crushed raspberries, vanilla cream, and a satisfying hint of chai spice. It’s inviting in that “come sit by the window and take it all in” kind of way. On the palate, it’s smooth but full-bodied, with mulberries leading the charge. The texture is all silk and easy grace. Time in French oak barriques has stretched and polished the finish, bringing everything into calm, cohesive balance. It’s the kind of shiraz that lingers in your memory - and on your palate - long after that last gorgeous sip.
You’d pay $60 full price.

Wild Card Wine #2
Angove Family Winemakers 1886 Shiraz 2021
Bordeaux, France
Five Star Halliday Winery | Iconic | Mofo Fave
This wine was crafted using traditional techniques at the historic, century-old Angove winery. After gentle de-stemming, wild fermentation was embraced in open fermenters to let the site’s character shine. Twice-daily hand plunging and pump-overs built colour, structure and complexity. Once dry, the wine was basket-pressed and sent to French oak for a long, slow maturation. Blackberry compote, aniseed and crushed herbs leap from the glass, supported by overt cedar and warming spice. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with a velvety texture that weaves dark plum, mocha and savoury oak into a seamless whole. Bright acidity and fine tannins stretch the finish long and clean. This is Barossa done beautifully. Drink now - it'll last for 10 years in the cellar but just drink it, it's so good right now.
YOU’D PAY $50 full price.
