1x Chateau Yaldara 1847 Grand Pappy's Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
The Boss
We all know the Barossa, and likely this icon of a wine, but do we really know it’s history? Introducing to you pioneers of this famed region, with this winery established over 150 years ago. They show no mercy when it comes to staying true to the region: meaty, bold, and focused reds with a whole lot of character. You know what we’re talking about: eye-catching hues of purple, soft and silky tannins, and more plummy goodness than you can poke a stick at. There’s cherry and rhubarb sure, but we’re talking unapologetic notes of chocolate, toasty oak and handfuls of freshly cracked pepper. It’s a showstopper, and built to impress even the most discerning of critics.
You’d pay $350 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Sorby Adams Reverend Canon Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This Barossa shiraz speaks of the powerful Barossa terroir and the master crafters who made it. It’s powerful and opulent, but maintains a certain grace that keeps everything in balance. There’s no surprises here with the flavour profile, an expression of blackberry, plum, chocolate, spices and cedar from the use of 30% new French oak. With a little bit of age up its sleeve, this is drinking beautifully now and will continue to do so for more than a decade to come.
You’d pay $120 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Domaine de Ferrand Mistral Côtes du Rhône 2023
Red — Grenache
Côtes du Rhône — France
A real 'for those in the know' kind of wine, the Mistral is one outrageously good value bottle of wine. From the legendary hands of one of the region's best, this grenache dominant blend (80%) is consistently used as a benchmark around the Mofo office for what great CDR (Côtes du Rhône) can and should represent. Only cement and stainless steel are used for ageing, allowing the purity and complexity of the fruit to shine through. The resulting wine is so very vibrant, satisfyingly spicy, and showcases a spectrum of blackberry and raspberry flavours. Dive in, this is completely delicious.
You’d pay $70 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Boschi Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC 2022
Red — Nebbiolo
Piemonte — Italy
Don't get it wrong, this is a rich, full-bodied wine, made in the tradition of the world-famous Barolos/Barbarescos of the Piemonte. An intense yet inviting nose of dried herbs, plush herbs and freshly flowered roses somewhat belies the power of the palate. A two year stint in barrel adds a bit of grunt and adds a spicy structure to balance pretty florals and bright red fruits, both typical of the variety. This is a Nebbiolo d'Alba that even the most stubborn of Barolo drinkers will find a soft-spot for.
You’d pay $50 full price.

1x Château Laronde Desormes Bordeaux Supérieur 2014
Red — Cabernet Blend
Bordeaux — France
Left bank Bordeaux is some of the best wine in the world. That's no overstatement, and we doubt anyone would dispute this fact. The problem with these wines is that they need time to settle into themselves and really show their true colours, also, they're usually very, very, very expensive. You guessed it, that's where we come in! We've done the aging for you, this wasn't a forgotten about wine that's been sitting in the back of a truck for 10 years - this is carefully, professionally aged Bordeaux, we've even taken care of the price for you. All you have to do is pop the cork and let yourself be transported to the old world.
You’d pay $45 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Austin's Wines 6ft6 Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
Geelong — Australia
Geelong is, for me, the best pinot noir producing region outside of Burgundy. Not the USA's Oregon, not New Zealand's Central Otago - little old Geelong on Victoria's south coast.
Fresh and inviting, this will give a lot with just a little swirl in the glass. Raspberry coulis, winter strawberry, some sweet spice, fennel, thistle. The complexity far outpaces its price tag. The wine is structured without sacrificing finesse, which means it's pretty without being thin or wussy. This is dangerous value at $15 and worth stocking up because we don't anticipate we'll be able to hang onto it too for long.
You’d pay $45 full price.
