1x Curtis Martin's Vineyard Shiraz 2020

Red — Shiraz

McLaren Vale — Australia

A special series wine from a prominent McLaren Vale winery isn’t something that’s easy to get our hands on. And we mean, sometimes this stuff can’t even be picked up when you bang on the doors of wineries themselves. So, safe to say we were jumping for joy to land this beauty from Curtis. Intensely dense, which sounds just as smooth as it drinks. Heightened aromas of blackcurrant and black cherries waft enticingly from the decanter, which help to open this to its full potential. The oak influence is superbly balanced, helping to lift the marked quality of the fruit and give this beauty the longevity it deserves. Sometimes you say we spoil you mofos, and we’re starting to think that you’re right.

You'd pay $199 full price.

1x Château le Loup Saint-Émilion Grand Cru 2021

Red — Merlot Blend

Bordeaux — France

If you’re the kind of wine buyer looking for the best wine at the best price, look no further. Saint-Émilion grand cru rarely ever starts at a price like this. Even we did a double take! With a super high average score among wine-loving Vivino users, it’s a ‘get it while it’s hot’ limited red. A classic right-bank blend of merlot and cabernet franc, expect an inky red in your glass. Plums and dark cherries intertwine with cedar, expanding with a richness that tapers to a classic finish. There is also an edge of earthy notes here, only found in wonderfully earnest Bordeaux. French oak and gravelly tannins, it has it all to keep you wanting more. Perfect to cellar, yet, even better to drink, after all, people say life is short. While we are here we may as well sip grand cru, live long and prosper. Château le Loup Saint-Émilion grand cru, we love you.

You'd pay $90 full price.

1x Chateau Galius Saint-Emillon Grand Cru Merlot Blend 2020

Red — Merlot Blend

Bordeaux — France

In mofo history, we have never seen a wine fly out the door quite like this one. No exaggeration, never before has a wine been as loved by the mofo community. This Grand Cru Saint-Emilion is rich and ripe and at a magical point in its life, drinking very, very well. It’s a stunning example of how Bordeaux terroir shines through the merlot grape in all its generosity and finesse, with a touch of cab franc (15%) adding fresh notes to all that fruit. Expect an abundance of plums, vanilla and milk chocolate. Forest floor and herbal undergrowth are hidden softly underneath - sage and oregano, tobacco leaf. Spice ekes in around my edges, with broad, silky tannin riding on a backbone of bright acidity and keen structure. You can rest assured that you are going to be drinking the top-of-the-top of Bordeaux here.

You'd pay $90 full price.

1x Château Hauts de Granget Saint-Emilion Grand Cru 2019

Red — Merlot Blend

Bordeaux — France

We’re getting pretty good at finding exceptional Bordeaux at unbelievable pricing. Humble, I know. But sometimes it’s good to give yourself a little pat on the back. We think we earned it with this one. It’s Saint-Emilion Grand Cru composed of 85% merlot and 15% cab franc that’s hitting all the right notes. And we’re not the only ones that feel that way - this is a certified Mofo fave.

You'd pay $80 full price.

1x Reschke Bos Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

This is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The needle in the haystack. This is why we show up to work every day and search the globe for the best wines. This right here, is the epitome of aged Coonawarra cabernet. Reschke are Coonawarra legends, and they don't hold back on the time and care that goes into their wines. Halliday would certainly agree, awarding the 2015 'Bos' 95pts in a recent tasting. Vibrant blackcurrant and oak have come together, tannins mellowed and earthy, secondary elements emerged. Enjoy drinking from the top shelf, you deserve it.

You'd pay $60 full price.

Barossa — Australia

You beauty: this shiraz is something to get excited about. While this is drinking perfectly now, do be warned - it’s quite the blockbuster! Handcrafted from the finest grapes on the Barossa vineyard this does what we look for the most in these kind of wines. Filled to the brim with rich, full-bodied aromas that lift with Moroccan spices, and dense black fruits such as blackberries. All of course, handled beautifully with high quality oak and supporting fine tannins. A blockbuster with a really great plot.

Frequently Asked Questions

This collection brings together Australia's most prestigious red wine regions with globally revered Bordeaux estates, creating a lineup that represents the pinnacle of winemaking excellence. The inclusion of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wines alongside premium Australian expressions from Coonawarra, Barossa, and McLaren Vale demonstrates the collection's commitment to showcasing the world's greatest terroirs. With ratings reaching 97 points and multiple five-star accolades, these wines have earned their place among the greatest of all time through exceptional quality and critical recognition.

The Australian wines showcase the bold, fruit-forward character of New World winemaking with their rich chocolate, plum, and spice notes, while the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wines bring Old World elegance with their refined structure and earthy complexity. This contrast creates a fascinating tasting journey that highlights how different climates and winemaking philosophies can achieve greatness through distinct approaches. The collection allows you to explore the evolution of international wine styles while appreciating how both regions have mastered the art of creating age-worthy, complex red wines.

These wines are crafted for both immediate enjoyment and long-term cellaring, offering flexibility for different occasions and preferences. The younger vintages like the 2021 Saint-Émilion will benefit from 5-10 years of careful storage to develop their full complexity, while the 2015 Reschke Cabernet is likely approaching its optimal drinking window now. The collection's diverse vintage range means you can enjoy some bottles tonight while laying others down for special future occasions, making it perfect for both immediate gratification and building a serious cellar.

Coonawarra's terra rossa soil and cool climate create ideal conditions for elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, while Barossa's warm days and cool nights produce intensely flavoured Shiraz with remarkable aging potential. McLaren Vale combines Mediterranean climate with diverse soils to craft wines of exceptional complexity and power. Saint-Émilion's limestone and clay soils, combined with centuries of winemaking expertise, produce some of Bordeaux's most sought-after wines, particularly those based on Merlot blends that offer both immediate appeal and long-term cellaring potential.

The collection's diverse flavour profiles from smoky and cedary to rich chocolate and spice notes make them incredibly versatile with food. The Australian Shiraz expressions pair beautifully with barbecued meats, aged cheeses, and rich game dishes, while the Saint-Émilion wines complement classic French cuisine like duck confit, lamb with herbs, or mature hard cheeses. The varying palate weights mean you can match lighter wines with charcuterie and stronger expressions with hearty winter stews, ensuring perfect pairings for any season or occasion.
