Why do we love this case?
We love it when the critics agree (and all of these wines have received top marks from the worlds best wine minds), but the real proof is in the broader crowd reception. Vivino allows us to gather the thoughts of the drinking many, rather than the critical few. And the consensus is well and truly in on this one: the people love it.
1x Schild Estate Narrow Road Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Rich, ripe and smoother than a Barry White song. This wine's been seriously cared for, hand picked, cold soaked before fermentation, to build complexity in the fruit, then aged in oak for 18-24 months, again, complexity. A cleverly crafted wine that balances all out attack and subtle beauty in a masterful fashion. Dark cherries and plums with chocolatey oak notes and a hint of allspice, this wine taste exactly how you'd expect a premium Barossa wine to taste and can really hold its own against some of the real heavy-hitters of the region. Yes, this is a wine the looks fantastic but, as with most things, it's what's on the inside of the bottle that counts.

1x Ulithorne Avitus Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Small production. Single vineyard. Old vines on sandy Blewitt Springs soils. And a winemaking team who treats every parcel of fruit like it's the most important thing in the world. Because when you drink this wine - you really feel like it's just that; the only thing that matters in the world. Ray Jordan called it "distinctive and classy... excellent wine." James Halliday described it as "suave and sophisticated." Two of Australia's most respected voices arriving at exactly the same conclusion - this is something special. Blackberry, dark plum and cedar on the nose, with spice and a lifted floral complexity that draws you in immediately. The palate is rich and velvety, with dark chocolate, mocha and a refined tannin structure that carries the finish long and clean. Concentrated without being blocky. Elegant without being shy. Single vineyard McLaren Vale shiraz from one of the region's most dedicated small producers. Drinks beautifully now and has years of development ahead. This one's a real treat.

1x Château Laronde Desormes Bordeaux Supérieur 2016
Red — Cabernet Blend
Bordeaux — France
Left bank Bordeaux is some of the best wine in the world. That's no overstatement, and we doubt anyone would dispute this fact. The problem with these wines is that they need time to settle into themselves and really show their true colours, also, they're usually very, very, very expensive. You guessed it, that's where we come in! We've done the aging for you, this wasn't a forgotten about wine that's been sitting in the back of a truck for 10 years - this is carefully, professionally aged Bordeaux, we've even taken care of the price for you. All you have to do is pop the cork and let yourself be transported to the old world.
You'd pay $85 full price.

1x Château Tour Haut Vignoble Saint-Estèphe 2016
Red — Cabernet Blend
Bordeaux — France
Hefty yet harmonious. By Bordeaux standards, this is a big wine - powerful tannin, subtle oak spice and a structure that has developed into the real backbone of this wine. A good period in the cellar has done absolute wonders for this wine, soft and silky, elegant even, despite the density of fruit. All elements of this wine are singing in perfect harmony, this could go further in the cellar for sure, but we think it's sitting in a really special spot right now. You can't rush perfection, that's true, but don't let it pass you by either...

1x Giana Luca Colombo Langhe Nebbiolo 2024
Red — Nebbiolo
Piemonte — Italy
Barolo is one of the greatest wines on earth. It's also one of the most demanding — cellar it wrong, open it too early, and you've wasted your money and your evening. Langhe Nebbiolo is what happens when you get all the good stuff without the decade-long wait. Same grape, same region, same ancient soils. Just built to be enjoyed right now.. And Gian Luca Colombo makes one of the best there is. This bloke is the real deal - biodynamic farming, native yeasts, old vines in Roddi, zero fining, zero filtering, amphorae and large neutral oak for ageing. No shortcuts, no compromises, no chemicals. Just a young winemaker from the Langhe who clearly has an extraordinary feel for what nebbiolo wants to be. What ends up in the glass is silky, perfumed and precise. Wild berries, forest floor, a floral lift and fine tannins that glide rather than grip. The finish is focused and elegant - the kind that makes you want another sip immediately to figure out exactly what just happened. This is Piedmont doing what Piedmont does best, from a producer making serious waves. Get in early.

1x Leconfield Manor House Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Reviewers all over the country, and even the world are raving about this Coonawarra drop and called it one of the best value cabs you could find. And that was before we popped up this incredible deal. With chocolate, blackberries, tobacco leaves and perfectly polished tannins, this is the cab sauv you've been waiting years for. Silky tannins, impressive length and seriously phenomenal flavour set this Coonawarra cab sauv apart from the pack. Add in some notes of chocolate, blackberries, aniseed, mint, ripe plums and spices and you've got a rare drop that drinks so beautifully you won't want to share it. Campbell Mattinson sang its praises and said, "This is as solid as they come. In fact it’s better than that. It’s straight into no-brainer territory: the price and the quality are definitely in the buyer’s favour here" - and that's before our discount! With impressive cellaring potential of a couple of decades this is a wine and deal that's not to be missed.
You'd pay $50 full price.
