Why do we love this wine?
There's nothing mistaking a Chateau Yaldara shiraz. They're rich, they're bold, they're bursting with dark fruits, chocolate and a dash of vanilla and they've got more structure than a bridge. Suffice to say it's a great day in the Mofo office when we can get our hands on a prestige batch of their best and deliver it at a silly price. Sam Kim gave this 2020 number 96pts and raved about its gorgeous expression, mouth-filling palate and fine-grained tannins. And Wine Pilot's Ray Jordan gave it 95pts and dubbed it perfectly pulled together and with perfumed aromatics. With more than a decade left in the tank this is one breath-taking Barossa drop that deserves a place at the table.
