It takes something truly exceptional to stand out in Tuscany, and this 2024 Brunello absolutely delivers. Pouring a striking garnet in the glass, it immediately draws you in with an alluring perfume of dried cherry, roasted espresso and wild thyme. The palate is beautifully textured and deeply complex. You'll find generous layers of dark plum and savoury herbs, all held together by the firm, dusty tannins that define the region's finest releases. It's packed with immense power and finishes with a vibrant, lingering drive, making it a stellar candidate for the cellar.

Why do we love this wine?
The Cotarella family has long been synonymous with Italian wine excellence, and their recent stewardship of the boutique Le Macioche estate marks a thrilling chapter in Montalcino's history. Located in the highly prized south-eastern sector of the appellation, the vineyards sit at roughly 420 metres above sea level. This prime elevation ensures brilliant ventilation and cooling night temperatures, which are absolutely essential for locking in the grapes' natural acidity. The vines are deeply rooted in a classic mix of galestro and alberese soils, forcing them to dig through fractured limestone to find nutrients. By applying their legendary precision to this incredible terroir, they've crafted an exquisite expression of Sangiovese that honours local tradition while showcasing a fresh, immaculate polish.
