Lovely generosity and texture, this one's all about plum, aniseed and rich fruit-cake flavours with spicy oak and light lingering tannin woven into the framework somewhere. This is just... delicious - the only word for it.

Why do we love this wine?
Rich, powerful aromatics of blackberries, toast and other ripe black fruit lead to a beautifully balanced palate - fresh rich fruit with soft tannins and a long, dry finish that has us begging for one more sip. Lashings of bright plums, raspberries, blackberry and black cherry get the creamy vanilla oak treatment, while fine-grained tannins provide a healthy structure. But here's the magic: that warm, round, luscious ball of flavour in the mid-palate - it's this wine's signature move. This one would benefit from a good decant upon opening. It's certainly suitable for mid-term cellaring. Those earthy textural tannins are firm now but will soften and become elegant with age.
