Gian Luca Colombo Langhe Nebbiolo 2024

Barolo is one of the greatest wines on earth. It's also one of the most demanding — cellar it wrong, open it too early, and you've wasted your money and your evening. Langhe Nebbiolo is what happens when you get all the good stuff without the decade-long wait. Same grape, same region, same ancient soils. Just built to be enjoyed right now.. And Gian Luca Colombo makes one of the best there is.

Why do we love this wine?
This bloke is the real deal - biodynamic farming, native yeasts, old vines in Roddi, zero fining, zero filtering, amphorae and large neutral oak for ageing. No shortcuts, no compromises, no chemicals. Just a young winemaker from the Langhe who clearly has an extraordinary feel for what nebbiolo wants to be. What ends up in the glass is silky, perfumed and precise. Wild berries, forest floor, a floral lift and fine tannins that glide rather than grip. The finish is focused and elegant - the kind that makes you want another sip immediately to figure out exactly what just happened. This is Piedmont doing what Piedmont does best, from a producer making serious waves. Get in early.
