Henschke are the undisputed masters of the Barossa - looking at you Hill of Grace - this is a beautifully composed blend of shiraz from up to 50-year-old vines across the Eden and Barossa Valleys with cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot from handpicked vineyards in both regions. The 2022 vintage weighs in at 59% shiraz, 33% cabernet sauvignon, 6% cabernet franc and 2% merlot - a blend that's been fine-tuned to perfection. What a wine.

Why do we love this wine?
Big, bold and full-bodied from the first sip to the last drop. Concentrated dark forest fruits dominate, underscored by baking spices, sage and Dutch cocoa. Wonderfully pure black fruits roll through with a core of sweet fruit, supported by impeccably balanced fine-grained tannins and vibrant acidity that keeps everything structured and focused. The finish is long, lingering and slightly warm - generous and approachable with exceptional persistence. This will comfortably age for 10-15 years (at least) but we think it's drinking like an absolute dream right now!
