Why do we love this wine?
When visionary winemaker Paolo De Marchi took the reins at Isole e Olena in the 1970s, he decided to break the strict regional blending laws to prove the true, unadulterated potential of Sangiovese. By bottling the grape entirely on its own, Cepparello was born as a trailblazing Super Tuscan. The vines are rooted in high-altitude, rocky galestro soils in the heart of Chianti Classico, which gives them brilliant drainage and ensures a long, even ripening season. Combining this world-class terroir with an uncompromising dedication to the land, the estate consistently produces a profoundly elegant red that captures the very soul of Tuscany.
