Why do we love this wine?
If you’re looking for something that’ll satisfy you on the most indulgent of occasions, look no further. It’s easy to fall in love with this Coonawarra beauty, not only for the eye-catching packaging but for the incredible wine that it promises inside. The Nightfall range is a side -project of renowned winemaker Sam Brand, and has been shortlisted for Halliday’s Best New Winery this year - so you know they’re really about the goods. This classic single vineyard drop is the real pristine stuff. Impressively ripe with a palate displaying cassis, chocolate and tobacco. This is complex, well structured and downright delicious. A great one to whip out at dinner when the conversation is getting nice and intense.

This Nightfall Cabernet is the business. From clever packaging to a cracking wine in the glass, winemaker Sam Brand excels once again. The name Nightfall was born at a dinner out with clients a couple of years ago. Walking outside from the restaurant, Brand’s clients looked up and were mesmerised by the night sky in downtown Penola. Having never seen the stars so vividly, his guests stood in awe and likened the stars to diamonds in the sky – something the packaging reflects.A single vineyard wine, give it a swirl to release aromas of dried herbs and tomato bush. Dripping in savoury goodness, it’s quite drying. Blackcurrants and blackberries, of course, go about their work but time in the glass sees coffee grounds, char, dutch chocolate, black olives, dried mint and grilled capsicums rise up. There is a lot to adore here. I love its flow and the neat tempo that ripples through the wine. Wines like this give you the sense that something special is in your hands. Just brilliant!
