Why do we love this wine?

Here is one show-stopping, chart-topping shiraz that’s ready and roaring. While this is drinking perfectly now, do be warned - it’s quite the blockbuster! Handcrafted from the finest grapes of their Barossa vineyard, this does what we look for the most in these wines; rich, full-bodied and full of aromatic lift. Moroccan spices and dense black fruits such as blackberries and black cherry. All of course handled beautifully with high quality oak and supporting fine tannins. A blockbuster with a really great plot.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2015 vintage has reached its optimal drinking window after nearly a decade of careful cellaring, allowing the intense Barossa fruit to integrate beautifully with the oak tannins. This extended ageing has softened the wine's powerful structure while preserving its blockbuster character, creating a perfect balance between youthful vigour and mature complexity. The Moroccan spice notes have also had time to develop and meld with the dense black fruit flavours.

The Barossa Valley's warm continental climate and ancient soils create ideal conditions for producing intensely flavoured Shiraz with exceptional concentration. The region's signature style emphasises rich, full-bodied wines with powerful fruit expression, which is perfectly exemplified in this wine's dense blackberry and black cherry characteristics. The area's winemaking heritage also ensures traditional techniques that enhance the wine's aromatic lift and spice complexity.

This full-bodied Shiraz demands equally robust dishes that can match its intensity without being overwhelmed. Think slow-cooked lamb shanks with Moroccan spices, grilled ribeye steaks, or rich game meats like venison, which will harmonise beautifully with the wine's blackberry fruit and cocoa notes. The wine's fine tannin structure also makes it excellent with aged hard cheeses or dark chocolate desserts.

The 95-point Wine Orbit rating and Five Star designation indicate this is an exceptional example of premium Barossa Shiraz that punches well above its weight class. These professional scores, combined with the 4.3 Vivino rating from consumer reviews, demonstrate consistent quality recognition across both expert and public opinion. The 'Museum Release' designation suggests this wine represents the producer's finest work and has significant cellaring potential.

Serve this Shiraz at 16-18°C to allow its complex aromatics and full-bodied character to shine, and consider decanting for 30-60 minutes to help the wine open up fully. While drinking beautifully now, proper storage in a cool, dark place will allow it to continue developing for several more years. The wine's robust tannin structure and high-quality oak treatment provide excellent ageing potential for those who prefer to cellar further.
