As with all the wines in this range This one's almost impossible to get your hands on in Australia, let alone Singapore! To be honest, this copywriter's jealous that we can't purchase it from here. From, quite simply, one of the best shiraz plots, in the best shiraz micro-region in the world. This is one doesn't belong in the cellar, it belongs in a gallery.

Why do we love this wine?

Tucked away high on an Eden Valley ridge, surrounded by old Yaccas and kissed by cool, clean air, this vineyard turns out shiraz with a rare kind of grace. The soils here are the secret - a mix of quartz and ironstone that forces the vines to dig deep, pulling out complexity and minerality that you can actually taste in the glass. Thanks to its lofty perch, ripening happens nice and slow, letting the fruit develop beautiful flavour without losing its natural lift. The result is a shiraz that’s smooth, deep and quietly powerful - the sort of wine that speaks in a low voice but still commands the whole room.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Eden Valley's high-altitude ridge location creates ideal conditions for premium Shiraz production. The elevation provides cool, clean air that slows ripening, allowing flavours to develop complexity while maintaining natural acidity. The unique quartz and ironstone soils force vines to root deeply, extracting minerals that translate directly into the wine's character. This combination of altitude and soil creates the perfect terroir for producing elegant, structured Shiraz with distinctive minerality.

The 2015 vintage represents this Shiraz at an excellent drinking stage, having had nearly a decade to develop secondary flavours and integrate tannins. Eden Valley Shiraz from quality vintages like 2015 typically shows beautiful evolution between 8-15 years, where primary fruit flavours merge with earthy, spicy complexity. At this age, you'll experience the wine's full-bodied power balanced with the refinement that comes from proper cellaring.

The wine's rich blackberry and dark chocolate notes, combined with allspice complexity, make it perfect for robust dishes. Think slow-cooked lamb with rosemary, grilled ribeye with pepper crust, or aged hard cheeses. The full-bodied structure and mineral backbone can handle bold flavours like barbecued meats, while the elegant tannins won't overpower dishes with earthy elements like mushroom risotto or game meats.

Two Hands is renowned for crafting Shiraz that balances power with elegance, avoiding the overly extracted style some producers favour. Their approach emphasises terroir expression, allowing the Eden Valley's unique quartz and ironstone soils to shine through. The result is a wine that's 'quietly powerful' - showing impressive depth and concentration while maintaining finesse and drinkability that reflects the cool-climate characteristics of this elevated vineyard site.

At nearly a decade old, this Shiraz will show beautiful integration of its components, with the initial bold fruit flavours now complemented by secondary notes of leather, tobacco, and earthy spice. The allspice and dark chocolate characteristics will be more pronounced, while the blackberry fruit remains present but more subdued. The tannins will have softened considerably, creating a smooth, velvety mouthfeel that showcases the wine's mineral backbone and Eden Valley terroir.
