Why do we love this wine?

Classically pale salmon in colour, it dazzles in the glass. No need to just eat with your eyes, the palate not only delivers on the promise of the aesthetic, but bests it. Sour cherry, strawberry and a hint of herbaceous character: this is utterly enticing at every turn - seriously delicious juice.

Wine Pilot

Wine Pilot

Sourced from a single site in the King Valley. A delicate pink pearl hue in the glass. The wine begins and ends with summer berries of wild strawberries, cranberry and fig. Slotted between are pink lady apple skin, crab apple blossom and mangosteen. It is a delightful juicy wine with a strawberry flesh middle palate and long, dry and chiselled finish. A delicate, elegant and fruitful Rosé that focuses on purity of fruit. A wine that would look stunning beside pink snapper sashimi, white soy and finger lime. A real celebration of the Alpines.

It's delicately expressed on the nose with raspberry, apricot, citrus peel and white floral nuances, leading to a finely flowing palate that's juicy and cheerful. Light yet flavoursome with a lengthy refreshing finish. At its best: now to 2026

"If I got this wine in a blind tasting I'd be hard pressed not to call it French - specifically Provence - Rosé."

Frequently Asked Questions

This Twin Valleys Rosé showcases the distinctive terroir of King Valley with its classically pale salmon hue and complex flavour profile. Unlike many commercial rosés that can be overly sweet or one-dimensional, this wine balances bright fruit notes of sour cherry and strawberry with subtle herbaceous undertones. The crisp, dry style reflects careful winemaking that preserves the wine's natural acidity while developing nuanced character that has earned it multiple 90+ point ratings.

King Valley's cool climate and elevation create ideal conditions for producing elegant rosés with retained acidity and delicate fruit expression. The region's diurnal temperature variation allows grapes to ripen slowly while maintaining freshness, which is crucial for achieving that perfect pale salmon colour and balanced flavour profile. This terroir-driven approach results in rosés that express place rather than just varietal character, explaining why this wine has garnered recognition from multiple wine critics.

Serve this rosé well-chilled at 8-10°C to highlight its crisp, refreshing character and enhance the delicate fruit aromatics. The light body and dry style make it incredibly food-friendly - pair it with fresh seafood, Mediterranean salads, or charcuterie where the wine's subtle herbaceous notes can complement herbs and the bright acidity can cut through richer elements. Its versatility also makes it perfect as an aperitif or for casual outdoor dining.

The herbaceous notes in this rosé add complexity and sophistication beyond simple fruit flavours, creating a more gastronomic wine experience. These subtle green, earthy undertones likely come from careful grape selection and gentle extraction techniques that capture some of the grape's natural tannins and phenolic compounds. This herbaceous quality provides a savoury counterpoint to the sweet fruit flavours, making the wine more interesting and food-compatible while demonstrating the winemaker's skill in balancing different flavour elements.

The 2023 vintage represents current release quality at its peak, offering the fresh, vibrant character that makes rosé so appealing. Rosé is generally best consumed young to capture its bright fruit flavours and crisp acidity, making this recent vintage ideal for current drinking. The multiple high ratings this wine has received suggest 2023 was an excellent year for King Valley, producing rosés with both immediate appeal and enough structure to maintain their quality through proper storage for the next year or two.
