Why do we love this wine?

Poets have waxed lyrical about Dom Perignon for nigh on a century, but sure, we'll throw our two cents in...

Tight and precise. Full bodied, bright, bristly. Energetic. Eternal. This is wine that goes beyond the spectrum of something you drink. It is a part of wine history that you can consume. A piece of the past, bottled up, nervy with anticipation and the promise of pleasure. A slither of the truly elite - of what the best wine minds to ever exist have determined to be the top of the tree. The apex. This is not a wine that needs to be paired with a special moment as it will make any old moment special.

A super-complex Champagne with chewy tension. Aromas of coffee beans, lemon peel, burnt sugar, chalky minerality, barley candy and tarte tatin. Fine pinprick bubbles with flavors of lemon leaves, aspirin and Mirabelle plums, plus a touch of grapefruit bitterness keeping the tension. Zesty yet integrated chewy acidity and a medium body with a toasted finish. Drink of hold.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2015 vintage represents exceptional growing conditions in Champagne, resulting in a wine that perfectly balances Dom Perignon's signature precision with remarkable depth. This vintage showcases the house's ability to create champagne that transcends typical celebratory drinking - it's a piece of winemaking history that demonstrates why Dom Perignon has maintained its position at the apex of luxury champagne for over a century. The 2015 displays the tight, energetic character that defines great Dom Perignon vintages.

Serve Dom Perignon 2015 at 6-8°C in proper champagne flutes to preserve the fine mousse and concentrate the complex aromatics of apricot, brioche, and lemon zest. Store bottles horizontally in a cool, dark place away from vibration - this vintage has the structure and acidity to age gracefully for another decade or more. The wine's medium body and rich complexity mean it can handle slightly warmer serving temperatures than lighter champagnes, allowing the full spectrum of flavours to emerge.

The brioche and apricot notes make this champagne exceptional with rich seafood like lobster thermidor or seared scallops, while the lemon zest brightness cuts through creamy sauces beautifully. Its medium body and complex structure also pair wonderfully with aged cheeses, particularly those with nutty characteristics that echo the wine's own depth. However, Dom Perignon's philosophy is that truly great champagne elevates any moment - it's designed to transform ordinary occasions into extraordinary ones regardless of what you're eating.

The exceptional ratings from James Suckling (97 points) and Robert Parker Wine Advocate (95 points) reflect Dom Perignon's uncompromising approach to quality and the 2015 vintage's perfect expression of Champagne terroir. These scores recognise not just the wine's immediate pleasure, but its potential for long-term development and its representation of centuries of winemaking expertise. The consistent high ratings across multiple critics demonstrate the vintage's universal appeal and technical excellence in balancing power with elegance.

Dom Perignon 2015 represents the pinnacle of champagne craftsmanship, making it ideal for life's most significant moments or as a collector's piece that appreciates over time. The wine's ability to 'make any old moment special' speaks to its transformative quality - you're not just buying champagne, but a piece of wine history from one of the world's most prestigious houses. With its proven aging potential and limited availability (maximum one bottle per customer), it offers both immediate enjoyment and long-term value for serious wine enthusiasts.
